With spring just around the corner, it won’t be long before we’re seeing rain as a regular part of our everyday forecast. However, driving a golf cart in the rain isn’t an easy thing to master, and will require a little practice, and some very careful driving. However, with our handy tips in mind, you’ll find yourself navigating through the wind and rain with ease in no time!

Helpful Rain Accessories

If you often drive through rain or mist, it may be a good idea to invest in a few helpful accessories to help you better navigate the inclement weather. All-terrain tires or golf cart street tires often have better tread than the original manufacturer’s set your cart came with and will help you avoid slipping and sliding in any mud and puddles you encounter. A windshield and wipers, or a driving tarp, can also help protect you from the wind and rain as you drive.

Drive Cautiously

Even with a set of all-terrain tires on your golf cart, you still want to drive very carefully in the rain. Travel up or down a steep hill and you may find yourself slipping on the wet grass or mud. Mud puddles and sad traps also pose a threat, as they’re especially difficult to get out of when it rains. Remember to drive slowly, and keep an eye on your surroundings. If you notice the rain has lasted for an extended period of time or has turned into an outright storm, it’s probably wise to turn back and store your cart under a tarp or in a garage.
